This drug can help with pain and sleep, working through the nervous system.  It can also help to heal the immune system : )

Low Dose Naltrexone

FDA-approved naltrexone, in a low dose, can boost the immune system — helping those with HIV/AIDScancerautoimmune diseases, and central nervous system disorders.

Anitviral ~ Monolaurin; Natural Replacement for Valcyte?!

Update:  Monolaurin did not work for me, so I tried Valcyte.

WARNING:  Valcyte has been shown to cause CANCER in Lab Rats.

My Infectious disease doctor just put me on, what she deemed to be a far less toxic antiviral (after telling her I still have antibodies toward HHV-6, which is not genital herpes or cold sores) called, Symmetrel.  So far, it is really helping with my fatigue.  It may however be disturbing my sleep.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I was at the docs the other day, and asked about receiving treatment for cytomegalovirus http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr (from mono) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epstein-Barr_virus, and herpes.  I knew that Valcyte, was a new and promising antiviral out that treated HHV-6 and Epstein-Barr Virus (EBV).  (This can be found in Dr. Teitelbaums's book From From Fatigued to Fantastic, p.140)  Upon asking about receiving treatment with Valcyte, my doctor immediately said that their is a safer, more effective alternative to Valcyte.  He told me that he has seen great results with the use of the natural remedy called Monolaurin.

At any rate, if you click on the Monolaurin link you will be able to read more about it.  It is an anti-virus supplement, that is supposed to be good for the immune system, does not destroy friendly bacteria, Extracted from Coconut Oil, and is good for both one-time and long-term preventative uses.

I started it about a week ago and perhaps it is helping!  We shall see in the long run...  : )  Dr. Teitelbaum also states that in one study, almost 89% of Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) Patients, had very high HHV-6 IgG antibody levels.  He goes on to say that HHV-6 inhibits the immune systems natural killer cells, normally fight off virus' and infections.

Herpes and Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue

WARNING:  VALCYTE has been shown to cause CANCER in Lab Rats.

My Infectious disease doctor just put me on, what she deemed to be a far less toxic antiviral (after telling her I still have antibodies toward HHV-6, which is different than genital herpes and cold sores) called, Symmetrel.  So far, it is really helping with my fatigue.  It may however be disturbing my sleep.

Herpes may be an associated cause of fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome. If you have herpes and consistently get out breaks, get treated. The stress that your body is going through to fight this virus could be lifted, thus releasing energy in your body for your healing. Valtrex is used to treat herpes. And, Valcyte is a new medication that is now being used in Fibromyalgia and Fatigue treatment centers.
